I don't either. Some of this is by choice. Some, not my fault. the world has changed.

Even if joining others, let's say after a rehearsal of a choir, there is not much to tell. Those with a whole network tell about their relations and the trips they make in the weekend like a visit to a town 100 km away. One could visit cities alone too but it's just not inviting to talk to yourself there. I think I will look at my smartphone in company and listen at the same time so I don't get too bored. People are not interested in my channels on RUclips where I spend my life. That is understandable since everybody has his own preferred channels.

I also thought: maybe we should aim to spend our time in internet meaningful too. I think there is no perfect solution, but combination of environment changes to get rid of triggers, easy, fun and meaningful offline hobbies and working on intention to spend information consuming online for something really meaningful, with purpose should make difference.

I don’t think that’s the main issue, (but a issue, yeah) Scrolling is easy, it’s passive, it’s instant gratification. A lot of other hobbies are not. But I feel similar compulsive effect as social media when I’m making puzzles, for example, or even with berry picking (but you just can’t go to nature every day full year, and puzzle ends, your back hurts))) So other ways to spend time and hobbies can be addictive too, but they usually limited by something, on the other hand social medias are always with us, that’s different, too easy, very little effort = very addictive)

Go to the pub or bar once or twice a month start walking solo, same with the gym or sports. ask a colleague you get along with to join you. I think maybe we need to stop holding other people hostage with the idea of close friends and approach it with more of a relaxed vibe. its like that Shia Labouf said "JUST DO IT!" we need human connection, whatever form it takes, and this is coming from an intensely introverted person, I'm lucky enough to have friends because I made a few conscious efforts.

i don't do anything either.... I definitely live a "boring" life. I agree with you about a relationship - I rather have a stable boring relationship with someone than being out here steady going through people. If I can find a partner who lives a simple "boring" life as well and we're compatible, I would truly be grateful and my life would be even greater because I would have someone who understands.

Kind of me too. I got my passport (didn't travel), created a company, had lots of sex, don't have any kids, graduated from college and went through a few jobs, got letters from the president of the USA and so much more. But the last of my 20s were during the Pandemic.

If this was your twenties then i might have been living a nightmare. Am gonna be 27 in less than 3 monhts , been depressed as a teen and wasted those years ,started doing drugs during the pandemic and developped anxiety disorder in 2022 and went back into locking myself in the house. I have been out a few times but i always end up going back home early because of my anxiety attacks or the meds that made me black out. I have been locking myself in for almot a year again but i said enough is enough. Am not scared of anxiety anymore and am tapering xanax which is very difficult; i don't have friends and the real friends i have don't live in the same city. I have never had a boyfriend until 2023 and it was just a trial and now i have been single for almmost a year. Am scared of living alone because of my anxiety but i have decided to take the step and move out this week or next week out of this plqce where am staying,they are close people to me and i came here because i was scarred but now i need my personnal space to reflect about my life and make changes because am in the room all day long laying down and don't do that much. Am more motivated when am organized and am not organized here. My anxiety would tell me that i shouldn't stay alone just in case something happens to me because these past few years were hell. I don't even know what else i have. I have even developped ARFID,EDNOS and other disorders. I have lost so much weight i'd be labelled as anorexic but it's over . Am gonna find hacks and live my life and aim for a better life . I will leave this country where am living before the end of the year (i hope) and i will be off this evil Xanax and maybe i will enjoy a glass of wine or a beer in the near future since i haven't touched anything since january 2022. It's depressing also that i am lonely but my type of men is not men from my country because we don't share the same mindset and they don't see women as nothing more than a sex object . I will make it and i will come back here for an update.

Having friends is for children. As an adult I find the idea of adults still having friends very immature.

Growing up transgender it’s hard to make friends because of the constant fear of being harassed by others. It’s my birthday and I got laughed at by my family and random strangers on the street. This led me to choose ways of self harm rather it’s mentally or physically. You never know what’s going on with people until you see the hurt. Choosing drugs was easier than going through the same disappointment.

People just use me it’s horrible especially when you have kids the other mums just want a free baby sitter
